The situation: 

The situation with the river Mörrum is more than critical; the salmon of river Mörrum is heading towards extinction if nothing is done soon. Commercially, it is a disaster for the local business, the community and the fishery.

Moreover, the opportunities to catch a salmon elsewhere and with almost guaranteed in some places, has increased substantially over the last 10 years, with ever increasing returns of salmon and sea trout to their native rivers of up to seventy percent. Norway has always been famous, but new places have emerged such, as Iceland and Russia. And now Scotland, with its historic returns these last few years, due to proactive management and the realisation, that the sports fishermen contribute more in revenues, than the commercial estuary netting operations have ever done  Most anglers today are willing to travel longer distances to catch their trophy salmon and sea trout, and this makes it even more difficult for individual rivers with merely no or limited fish numbers, and estuary nets in-place, to compete for the angler’s attention,time and money.  

Help the MFA, to help the Mörrumsån recover back to it's former prominence: 

Our task is quite simple; aid, assist and achieve a lasting recovery, with primary purpose of making the Mörrumsån once again, prominent for its trophy salmon and sea trout. While helping to secure its future, as a natural and self-generating salmon and sea trout river. That will at the same time, helping the local Mörrum community stop the impact of declining numbers of sport fishermen that contribute important revenues to the local and county communities.

Corporate sponsorships comprise of corporations who wishes to support MFA with larger sums and who sees conservation of the wild salmon and its natural self generating habitat, as a corporate social responsibility.

Local sponsorships consist typically of local businesses, who view the MFA as key organization, to assist in the recovery of the wild salmon and sea trout runs, and help generate increases in the numbers of sport fishermen and tourists.

Memberships is aimed at anglers who fish the River Mörrum and support the MFA as their voice to Sveaskog, Kronolaxfisket, and the authorities.

The sponsors will in exchange receive the following: 

• Image as an conscientious company with resources and goodwill to protect precious wild life and its natural habitats

• Access to use the MFA logo and “standpoints” in stationary and marketing material etc.
